Cookie Policy for Beautiful Mews Cottage

Last Updated: 6 October 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Beautiful Mews Cottage uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website. We believe in being transparent about how we handle your data. By using our website, you agree that we can place these types of cookies on your device unless you change your browser settings or opt out.

1. What are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer, smartphone, or tablet when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, improve your browsing experience, and provide information to the website owners.

2. How We Use Cookies
We use cookies to allow you to navigate smoothly between pages, remember your preferences, secure our checkout ecosystem, and power our direct online booking platform.

3. The Cookies We Use
We group our cookies into the following categories:

A. Strictly Necessary (Essential) Cookies
These cookies are absolutely vital for our website to function properly. They enable basic features like secure page navigation and the ability to book your stay. Without these cookies, the website cannot perform transactions safely or hold your reservation. They do not require your prior consent and cannot be turned off in our system.
Direct Booking System (Lodgify): When you look at our availability calendar or start a reservation, Lodgify drops cookies to remember your chosen check-in/out dates, guest count, and cottage details as you move through the booking steps. These are temporary session cookies that expire when you close your browser.
Payment Gateway Security (Stripe): To allow you to pay securely online via credit or debit card, we embed Stripe into our checkout page. Stripe sets critical cookies (such as __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid) to analyze device signatures. This acts as a fraud prevention radar, blocking malicious scripts and protecting both your financial details and our platform from unauthorized transactions.

B. Functional Cookies (Optional)
These cookies allow our website to remember choices you make (such as your preferred currency or regional settings) to provide a more personalized experience.

C. Performance & Analytics Cookies (Optional)
If you use tools like Google Analytics, list them here. If you don't track visitor metrics, you can remove this section.
These cookies collect anonymous information about how visitors interact with our site, helping us find out which pages are the most popular and detect any technical errors.

Our Cookie Banner: You can accept or reject optional cookies using the consent pop-up banner that appears when you first visit our site.
Your Web Browser: You can block or delete cookies entirely by changing your web browser settings (e.g., in Google Chrome, Safari, or Microsoft Edge). Please note that blocking essential cookies will mean you cannot complete an online booking for Beautiful Mews Cottage.
